In two weeks, one of the NASA's top recent astronauts will speak at an important luncheon exploring space topics. Gregory Johnson is the featured speaker at the Space Foundation's Space Technology & Investment Forum luncheon.
The event will be held August 16-17 at the JW Marriott in San Francisco's Union Square. Johnson will share his presentation on the 17th.
The conference is invite-only. In addition to Johnson's speech, there will be panel discussions and networking opportunities available.
Johnson currently serves as the president and executive director of the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space. In his role, he leads CASIS efforts to maximize the International Space Station.
As an astronaut, Johnson piloted two missions and worked with NASA in a variety of other roles. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran who spent 25 years in the service as a Colonel.
During Operation Desert Storm, Johnson flew 34 combat missions. While in the Air Force, he flew in over 50 aircraft and logged over 5,000 flight hours.
