There are not many more respected figures in Florida's political realm past or present than former Governor Bob Graham. He is bound to be well-received as the featured speaker for the League of Women Voters of the Space Coast luncheon on January 14th.
The 11:30 a.m. luncheon is being hosted at the Radisson Resorts Pavilion Ballroom in Cape Canaveral. Graham will be on hand with his co-author Chris Hand to discuss their new book, "American, the Owner's Manual: You Can Fight City Hall - and Win."
A book signing will follow their talk and copies will be available for purchase at the event. The presentation is open to the public and tickets are $28 with a registration deadline of January 8th.
After spending 12 years in the Florida Legislature, Graham was elected governor in 1978. During his two terms, he focused on issues like improving the state university system, adding jobs and protecting the environment.
Following his gubernatorial tenure, Graham was a three-term U.S. Senator. He was a founding member of the Democratic Leadership Council and served as decade on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Now, Graham is the chair of the Florida Conservation Coalition. He also works ardently to train a new generation of leaders through the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at his alma mater, the University of Florida.
