Famed Chimpanzee Researcher Dr. Jane Goodall Making Iceland Visit

Dr. Jane Goodall has researched animal life all over the world and this June she will be making a visit to Iceland. Goodall will be in the country June 12-16.
Not much is known about Dr. Goodall's specific itinerary in Iceland yet, but she will be on hand to rally for one cause specifically. She is lending her name to a petition that has asked for parliament to establish an animal sanctuary.
Her arrival in Iceland was coordinated by Sigurður Baldvin Sigurðsson who operates his own animal sanctuary in Spain and is a friend of Dr. Goodall's
Dr. Goodall is primarily known for her study of wild chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania over a 55-year period. She made several groundbreaking discoveries that revealed the personalities of chimps to depths previously unknown.
In 1977, she founded the Jane Goodall Institute that supports research and advocates for chimpanzee protection. Goodall is a UN Messenger of Peace and has served on the board of the Nonhuman Rights Project since 1996.
She has written over 25 books, including many for children, and her work has been featured in countless documentaries. Goodall originally got her doctorate in ecology from Cambridge University, but has been awarded several honorary degrees over the years for her indelible impact on society.
