Earlier this month, Vermont hosted an important event discussing makerspaces. Makerspaces are facilities that combine different resources for people who would normally not have access to them.
The Maker Places Conference took place in Burlington. There were representatives from all across the state and even from other states to figure out what it takes to create a makerspace.
One of the keynote speakers was entrepreneur Peter Hirshberg. His presentation was titled, "The Maker City: Invitation to Innovation".
Hirshberg has been leading media and technology companies for over 20 years. He serves as chairman of the Re:Imagine Group and gives strategic tips on marketing for audiences and customers.
In Hirshberg's role with Re:Imagine, he has worked with companies like Best Buy, IBM and Sony. Additionally, he is Chairman of Technorati, a social media search engine.
Previously, Hirshberg was CEO of Elemental Software and Gloss.com. His career in the technology industry got a jumpstart with a nine-year stint with Apple Computer.
