Entertainment Mogul Tyler Perry Delivers Tuskegee University Commencement Address

As one of the most powerful names in entertainment, Tyler Perry has a lot of business wisdom to impart. He shared some of that this weekend with the graduates of Tuskegee University.
Perry was the school's commencement speaker on Saturday at Daniel "Chappie" James Arena. The ceremony began at 10 a.m. and it was the 131st graduation proceeding at Tuskegee.
Perry spoke from the heart about his difficult road to success. In addition to his presentation, he was awarded an honorary degree for the first time.
In addition to his Hollywood clout, Perry is also known as one of the more versatile figures in entertainment. His career started as a playwright and expanded out of that.
His television show, "Tyler Perry's House of Pain", ran from 2006-2012 on TBS. Following that successful series, Perry agreed to a deal wiht the Oprah Winfrey Network.
He has since produced several original programs for OWN, including their highest-rated series "The Haves and the Have Nots". Perry is also well known for his creation of the character Madea, a tough elderly woman that he has played on stage, in film and on TV.
