Education Expert Barbara Oakley Speaks at Oakland University

Oakland University recently welcomed one of their own to speak. OU professor and education expert Barbara Oakley took part in the school's popular Soundings Series.
The event took place on January 24th from 3-4:30 p.m. in Elliott Hall. Oakley talked about how to break into book publishing, the influence of media, the benefits and disadvantages of using social media and the impact of massive online open courses.
The Soundings Series highlights the achievements of university faculty members. All attendees who RSVP in advance are welcome to attend.
Oakley is a professor of Industry and Systems Engineering and has worked at the school since 1998. She is the creator of the world's most popular online course, Learning How to Learn.
Oakley is a New York Times bestselling author who has several published works. She has been featured in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
Oakley is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. She has two bachelor's degrees from the University of Washington and a master's and Ph.D. from Oakland.
