Education Advocate Steve Perry Speaks at Black Achievers Dinner in Delaware

One of the nation's top education advocates was in Delaware for an important speaking engagement on Wednesday. Steve Perry was the keynote speaker at the YMCA 28th annual Black Achievers dinner and awards ceremony.
The event was held in Wilmington. Perry was able to talk to young people and empower them to achieve.
Black Achievers generally works with kids in grades 7 through 12 on college and career readiness. There were several students in the Black Achievers group that were also able to be honored.
Perry is the founder of the Capital Preparatory Magnet School. U.S. News and World Report has called it one of the best schools in the country.
The school has produced great results under Perry's leadership, sending 100% of their disadvantaged students to college since 2006. Perry himself rose out of a family in their third generation of poverty.
