Dr. Bernice King continues to carry on the legacy of her icon father Martin Luther King Jr.  Dr. King will do a book signing as part of the activities at The 2016 King Holiday Observance Kick-Off and Luncheon at The King Center's Freedom Hall Atrium.

The Friday kick-off held annually in Atlanta, Georgia is one of the main events that highlight a busy calendar of MLK Day celebrations and speeches across the country.  Dr. King will sign copies of her book, "Hard Questions, Heart Answers" and the biography, "Desert Rose: The Life and Legacy of Coretta Scott King" on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.

Books will be available for purchase at The King' Center's Bookstore and Resource Center.  All events are free and open to the public.

Dr. King has been CEO of The King Center since 2012.  While she is her father's youngest daughter and just five years old when he was tragically shot, she has always taken a leadership role in preserving his memory.

At 17 years old, Dr. King delivered a passionate speech to the United Nations and that started her journey living a public life.  She went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Spelman College and a Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Law from Emory University.

Dr. King has spoken around the world and to companies like AT&T, DuPont Corp., and Nike.   She serves on the HOPE Southeastern Board of Directors of Operation HOPE and the Board of the inaugural Regions Diversity Advisory Council for Regions Financial.
