Diversity Speaker Ryan Sallans Speaks at Transgender Day of Remembrance Event

This past Sunday, diversity speaker Ryan Sallans spoke at a special Transgender Day of Remembrance event. The commemoration was held by PFLAG of Southwest Missouri.
There was various Transgender Day of Remembrance activities held throughout the country to remember those in the community who have been killed or victims of suicide. He was at National Avenue Christian Church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. sharing his transition story.
Following the presentation, Sallans held a book signing. During the day, he also conducted a diversity training session.
In 1999, Sallans began his career as a diversity speaker and trainer. An appearance on the MTV LOGO documentary, "Gender Rebel", gave him exposure to a mass audience.
Following the release of the documentary, Sallans began sharing his transition story at universities across the country. He released his memoir, "Second Son: Transitioning Towards My Destiny, Love and Life," in 2012
The next year, he became the founder of Scout Publishing LLC and released the second edition of his memoir. He also serves as the publisher and editor-in-chief of The Outrider Review.
