The Podcast Movement is one of the biggest annual events for podcasters everywhere. A full list of keynote speakers was highlighted with one final big name from the entertainment world.
Director Kevin Smith has been named as the final speaker at the event, held July 6-8 in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency. The Podcast Movement attracts 1,500 individuals to hear from over 100 different speakers and take part in over 80 sessions.
Now in its third year, The Podcast Movement just continues to grow in size and scope. Early-bird registration is $364 while standard sign-up costs $409 and podcasters can purchase entry at the door for $509.
Smith is no stranger to the podcast world. He is the co-founder of the Smodcast Podcast network and has created multiple shows that have gained popularity.
Most know Smith from his comedic acting and directing career. He had his break directing and starring at "Silent Bob" in Clerks in 1994.
Other films that have similar story elements like Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back followed up on Smith's initial success. Outside of the film world, he owns the New Jersey comic book store "Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash" and stars in the AMC reality show centered on the store, "Comic Book Men".
