Director Guillermo del Toro Named Keynote Speaker at D.I.C.E. Summit

Video game industry leaders will get a special presentation this week in Las Vegas.  Respected director Guillermo del Toro is a keynote speaker at the D.I.C.E. Summit.

The summit is being held February 16-18 at the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center.  D.I.C.E stands for Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain.

Del Toro will participate in a conversation with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima.  There are also several other speakers scheduled to attend.  

Del Toro is well-known for directing American action movies like Blade II, Hellboy, and Pacific Rim.  He has directed several Spanish language films as well.  

In addition to directing, Del Toro is an accomplished producer.  He has received many independent film festival awards with his first major recognition coming with the Mercedes-Benz Award at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival.  

Del Toro grew up in Mexico and started making short films with a family camera at age eight.  His pictures feature elements of fairy tale and horror.
