Director David Lynch Delivers Commencement Address at Maharishi University of Management

Maharishi University of Management has wrangled a big name to serve as this year's commencement speaker.  Filmmaker David Lynch will address the Class of 2016 at the Maharishi Patanjali Golden Dome on June 18th at 1:00 p.m.

In addition to speaking, Lynch will receive a Doctor of World Peace honoris causa degree.  Through his David Lynch Foundation, he has brought the Transcendental Meditation technique to many in need across the world.

Lynch has worked with the campus before, appearing several times and hosting "David Lynch Weekends".  The school also offers the David Lynch MA in Film.

Lynch is well-known for the surrealist films he has produced.  He has been nominated for four Academy Awards, three of those nominations coming in the Best Director category.  

Additionally, Lynch also has four Golden Globes nominations.  His work has expanded outside of film on occasion, most notably with the early 1990's hit television series "Twin Peaks".

The murder mystery show received five Emmy nominations and made TV Guide's list of 50 Greatest TV Shows of All-Time in 2002.  Lynch is currently at work on a reprisal of the series that will debut on Showtime in 2017.
