Deutsche Post DHL CEO Frank Appel Speaks at Transpacific Maritime Conference

Deutsche Post DHL CEO Frank Appel delivered an important keynote address at this year's Transpacific Maritime Conference.  In it, Appel firmly declared that his company was not looking to halt freight forwarding service.  

The conference was held from February 28th-March 3rd in Long Beach, California at the Long Beach Convention Center.  Appel delivered his message on the first day of the event.

The TPM Conference is in its 16th year.  A full-price full-conference pass cost attendees $2175.

Appel has been in his current post since 2008 and has an appointment through October of next year.  He has been with Deutsche Post in some capacity since 2000, first starting out as a Managing Director of Corporate Development. 

In addition to his role as CEO, Appel serves as a Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Post AG.  Prior to arriving at the company, he was at McKinsey & Co. from 1993-1999.

In 1989, Appel received his master's degree in chemistry from the University of Munich and he earned a Ph.D. in neurobiology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1993.  He is married with two children.
