Country Music Singer Naomi Judd Named Keynote Speaker at Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference

This week, The 27th annual Bakersfield Women's Business Conference announced their keynote speaker.  Country music great Naomi Judd will speak at the event slated for September 29th. 

The conference will be held at the Rabobank Arena Theatre & Convention Center along with the Marriott Hotel. Its theme for 2016 is "Find Your Passion. Brand Your Life."

Registration has not yet started for the event.  Judd will be following up last year's keynote speaker, Olympic champion swimmer Dara Torres.

Judd is most famously known for forming a country music duo with her daughter Wynonna.  The Judds had twenty top-ten hits and won five Grammy Awards. 

Throughout the 1980s, the duo dominated at the Country Music Awards, winning seven consecutive Vocal Group of the Year awards  When Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1991, she stepped away from the group but became a powerful activist raising awareness for the disease as a spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.

She has gone on to appear on a variety of television programs and become a bestselling author.  The Judds reunited for a tour in 2010 and it was chronicled by a hit documentary series on The Oprah Winfrey Network.
