One of the funniest people going came to Omaha, Nebraska last month for a special event.  Comedian Tom Arnold spoke at Breaking the Silence, a benefit held for the Community Alliance.

The event was held at the Holland Performing Arts Center.  It was a 35th anniversary celebration for Community Alliance, which helps those who suffer from mental illness lead more normal lives.

Arnold was able to discuss his battles with depression and substance abuse.  There were over 700 people in attendance and the banquet raised over $400,000 for the organization.

Arnold gained notoriety in the early 1990s as a writer and series regular on the sitcom, "Roseanne."  In 1994, he had his first major film role, starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in "True Lies."

The movie netted Arnold an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Comedic Performance.  He has gone on to be a comedic film star.

Outside of the comedy realm, Arnold is popular with sports fans due to his four years as co-host of "The Best Damn Sports Show Period."  He currently hosts a show on the Podcast One network titled, "100% Honest. Pretty Much."
