CNN Host Michael Smerconish Gives Commencement Address at Widener University

One of the top political opinion leaders in the country spoke to graduates at Widener University last month. On May 21st, CNN host Michael Smerconish delivered the school's commencement address.
Smerconish spoke about the necessity of overcoming rejection to be successful in life. He also discussed the power of learning from one's rejections.
In addition to speaking, Smerconish received an honorary doctor of humane letters. The ceremony was held outdoors on the Chester campus.
Smerconish is the host of his own show on CNN at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. He is a national radio personality as well, hosting a daily program on SiriusXM's POTUS Channel 124.
For his tremendous work on the radio airwaves, Smerconish has been named one of the most important talk show hosts in America by Talkers Magazine. In 2011, he was a Marconi Award finalist in the category of Best Network/Syndicated host.
Prior to arriving at CNN, Smerconish had a television presence with MSNBC. He is the author of six books, including two New York Times bestsellers.
