The City of Jacksonville is welcoming one of the most respected sociologists in the country to speak at their Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast. Bertice Berry will provide context around King's legacy.
The 30th annual event takes place January 13th at 7 a.m. at the Prime Osborn III Convention Center. Tickets cost $40 for individuals and $400 for a corporate table.
In addition to Berry's presentation, "Tommorow's Leaders" will be honored and there will be multiple live musical performances. It should be a great event to remember Dr. King.
Berry has roots in the Jacksonville area as a graduate of the University of Jacksonville. She has gone on to be a bestselling author and award-winning lecturer.
After teaching statistics and sociology at Kent State University, Berry embarked on a successful speaking career. She has been named Comedian of the Year, Campus Lecturer of the Year and Campus Entertainer of the Year.
For several years, Berry hosted the nationally syndicated television program, "The Bertice Berry Show." She has also made appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and "20/20."
