Lisa Ling's work in journalism has inspired many.  She will share some stories from that career while empowering the attendees at the Central California Women's Conference in September.

Ling is the keynote speaker at the 29th annual conference on September 20th.  The event will be held at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This year's conference theme is "Ignite Your Body and Spirit".  Early bird registration is $110 until August 16th.

Ling launched her broadcasting career to a new level when she became one of the co-hosts on the ABC midday show "The View" from 1999-2002.  Currently, she works for CNN hosting "This is Life with Lisa Ling".

In addition, Ling has held jobs as a host for the Oprah Winfrey Network, National Geographic Explorer and a reporter for Channel One News. She became a reporter for Channel One News when she was only 18 and served as a war correspondent for them.

Ling's sister, Laura, is also a journalist who was infamously detained in North Korea.  The sisters teamed to write a book published in 2010 called, "Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home".
