One of Boston's most prominent chefs has an important speaking engagement in her own backyard next week.  James Beard award-winning chef Barbara Lynch will give the graduate commencement address for the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University.

The ceremony will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at The Westin Copley Place.  Each graduate is getting four tickets for family and friends.

Lynch's roots in Boston will undoubtedly help her relate with the audience.  The Class of 2016 will also feature a student speaker to share thoughts during commencement.

Lynch is well regarded not only for her culinary creations but also her business acumen.  She operates seven different food or drink related establishments.

In 1998, Lynch first drew a buzz with the opening of her restaurant No. 9 Park.  That year, it received many honors including Bon Apetit naming it one of the "Top 25 New Restaurants in America".

Two years ago, Lynch became just the second woman to win a James Beard Award as Outstanding Restauranteur.  She released her first cookbook in 2009 titled, "Stir: Mixing It Up in The Italian Tradition".
