Two icons of modern broadcasting are convening together in New York City this Monday. Larry King and Regis Philbin will talk about their lives both in and out of the spotlight.
"Larry King in Conversation with Regis Philbin" is being hosted by the non-profit community center, 92Y. It will take place at the Kaufmann Concert Hall beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets begin at $40 and are being scooped up fast. This is sure to be a night to remember with King and Philbin giving insights into life and what has made them both successes.
King is best known for his CNN show, "Larry King Live", which he hosted from 1985-2010. Currently, he has shifted his focus to the digital sphere, hosting "Larry King Now" and "Politicking with Larry King" on the streaming site, Ora TV.
Over the course of his career, King has won two Peabodys and ten Cable ACE Awards. He is a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame and the Broadcasters' Hall of Fame.
Philbin holds the unique distinction of carrying the Guinness World Record for the most time in front of a television camera. He became well identified with the show Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee that began in 1988.
In 2001, Philbin teamed with new co-host Kelly Ripa on the program until his 2011 retirement. He also was a noted game show host throughout his career and started a phenomenon as the original host of the ABC series, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire".
