Megan Bomgaars has inspired many as the star of A&E's series, "Born This Way". Last week, she was able to share more of her story at an appearance in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bomgaars was the speaker at the "Applause at the Museum" gala. The event benefited New Avenues to Independence, an organization which offers services and programs to people with disabilities.
There were over 300 people that turned out for the gala. Bomgaars stressed that those with disabilities have the same ambitions everyone else does.
Bomgaars unbreakable spirit is on full display on Born This Way. The show is an Emmy award winner and already in its second season.
Bomgaars was discovered after a teacher helped her produce a YouTube video, "Don't Limit Me". That viral hit led to a speaking spot at the Down Syndrome Congress Conference and ultimately to her spot on the A&E show.
In addition to being a media hit, Bomgaars spends time working on her own clothing line, Megology. She has also taught a class at the University of Colorado on childhood inclusive education.
