Bill Nye the Science Guy Announced as SXSW Eco Keynote Speaker

One of the pioneers of educational television is speaking at SXSW Eco this fall. Bill Nye the Science Guy has been scheduled as a keynote speaker for the event which runs October 10-12 at the Austin Convention Center.
SXSW Eco creates a forum for business leaders and other industry titans who champion economic, environmental and social change. Nye's keynote will be on the final day of the convention from 4:45-5:45 p.m.
Registration is still open. It is $375 for those who purchase before September 16th and then increases to a $495 walk-up rate.
Nye rose to popularity as the star of the PBS show, "Bill Nye the Science Guy" from 1993-1998. There were 100 half-hour episodes in the series run that taught kids about a specific area of science.
Since, Nye has become an opinion leader in the scientific community. He has been associated with The Planetary Society since 2005 and currently serves as the organization's CEO.
The Planetary Society that advocates for projects related to astronomy and space exploration. As a former aeronautics industry consultant and NASA hopeful, this has always been an area dear to Nye's heart.
