The New Vitae Wellness Foundation is bringing in a top expert on behavioral health to speak. Kevin Hines will speak to the organization on October 5th at 7 p.m. in the Quakertown Community High School auditorium in Pennsylvania.
Hines is the Foundation's first speaker and he will discuss his own personal battle with behavioral health challenges. Earlier in the day, he will also talk to students at Quakertown High School.
Attendance cost is covered by the Foundation, but those who wish to attend must pre-register. It should be a tremendously informative evening.
Hines was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and struggled mightly with the disease. At one point, he attempted to take his life by jumping from San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Fortunately, Hines survived the jump and has decided to use the experience to help others. He is just one of 36 people to survive the significant bridge jump.
In 2013, Hines bestselling memoir, "Cracked Not Broken, Surviving and Thriving After A Suicide Attempt", was released. This year, he received the Clifford W. Beers Award from Mental Health America.
