Ariel Industries President Mellody Hobson brings impressive business credentials to the table. Yesterday, she keynoted the inaugural Los Angeles Black Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
The event was held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. It was hosted by Hart Leadership Center and presented by City National Bank.
They honored several successful leaders in the community. The first event was extremely successful, with a sellout crowd attending.
Hobson runs the U.S.'s largest African-American-owned financial management company. In addition to her role as president, she is chairman of the board of trustees for Ariel Investment Trust.
Hobson is known as a top speaker in the areas of financial literacy and investor education. She regularly shares her insights on finance and trends for CBS News.
Additionally, Hobson shares weekly financial tips on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and writes a column for Black Enterprise magazine. Last year, she was named to Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
