Animal Behavior Expert Temple Grandin Speaks at PINC Conference

At the beginning of the month, animal behavior expert Temple Grandin spoke at an event in Sarasota, Florida. She was one of 16 speakers at the People, Ideas, Nature, Creativity conference on December 8th. 

The overall event was held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sarasota Opera House. Tickets to attend were $425. 

Grandin spoke about living with autism. She spoke about the struggles kids on the autism spectrum deal with today and what some solutions might be. 

Grandin serves as a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. She is a top speaker and consultant for those in the livestock industry. 

In addition, Grandin addresses crowds throughout the world about autism. She invented the "hug box" that helps calm those on autism spectrum. 

In 2010, she was named by Time as one of the most influential people in the world. There was also an award-winning, semi-biographical film made about her titled, "Grandin."
