Actor Tony Plana Speaks at Scholarship Luncheon in Texas Next Month

Actor Tony Plana is scheduled to speak at an event that has been done great good for the Mexican-American community over the years. He will keynote the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation annual birthday celebration on January 17th.
The event raises money to fund scholarships handed out by the foundation. It will be held at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas and tickets and sponsorship packages are currently available.
Plana has previously narrated a PBS documentary that talked about Garcia. He will certainly weave in aspects of his impact among Mexican-Americans while also applying it to modern day situations.
Plana is best known for his role as Betty Suarez's father on the hit ABC show, "Ugly Betty." In 2006, he received a Satellite Award for his performance in the series.
In addition to his television roles, Plana is active as an actor and director in the theater world. He has been in several films since beginning his acting career in the late-1970s.
Video game fanatics know Plana for serving as a voice actor on Grim Fandango. He has taught acting as well at schools across southern California.
