A unique name from the world of Hollywood spoke at the biggest political fundraiser of the year for Democrats in South Carolina. Actor Jeffrey Wright was the keynote presenter Friday at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
The event was held at the Columbia Convention Center. Wright was able to explain why he is voting Democrat up and down the ballot.
His appearance at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner was certainly well received by fans of his work. The proceedings Friday were followed by an issues conference on Saturday.
Wright is one of the most respected actors today and has been in over 35 films. He has the distinction of winning an Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony Award in his career.
In addition to his critically acclaimed work, Wright has also been in several Hollywood blockbusters. He has appeared in three of the four "The Hunger Games" films and also had a supporting role in two James Bond movies.
Wright's work with HBO has also gained him notoriety. He won his Golden Globe and Emmy for his part in the miniseries, "Angels in America" and played the popular character Valentin Narcisse in seasons four and five of "Boardwalk Empire".
