Top artist and designer Maya Lin is coming to the Feigenbaum Forum on Innovation and Creativity. She will speak on October 27th at Nott Memorial on the Union College campus.
This is the second annual forum. Lin's talk is free and open to the public.
The forum is made possible through a gift from the Feigenbaum Foundation. The Feigenbaum brothers hosted a similar event on the campus for over a dozen years.
Lin made her first big play in the design world as a 21-year-old when she submitted the winning proposal for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The wall that features the names of over 58,000 servicepeople who died is visited by over four million individuals each year.
Lin is also the designer of the Civil Rights Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama. Currently, she is working on the "What is Missing?" monument and the Confluence Project.
In 2009, Lin was awarded the National Medal of Arts. She is on the board of the directors for the Bloomberg Foundation, Museum of Chinese in America and the What is Missing? Foundation.
