2014 Miss America Nina Davuluri Speaks at Cal State Fullerton Women’s Conference

One woman that has spent the last few years traveling around America to inspire set down on the Cal State Fullerton Women's Conference. On Sunday April 3rd, Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri was welcomed to the event as keynote speaker.
Davuluri centered most of her presentation on empowerment. In addition to her speech, there were four other breakout sessions at the free event.
They gave advice on defense against identity theft, financial responsibility, healthy living, and life coach advice. There were several other experts at these sessions to lend their tips.
Davuluri won Miss America 2014 and in the process became the first Indian American to ever be crowned. Since, she has made it her mission to fight for diversity through her social media platform, "Circles of Unity".
In many of her presentations, Davuluri shares the powerful story of her mother emigrating from India to pursue a career in computer programming. As a result of her background, she is a STEM advocate that works with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Education and Google to promote women's education in STEM categories.
During her reign as Miss America, she logged 20,000 miles a month promoting her initiative, "Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competency". As a result of winning Miss Michigan's Oustanding Teen in 2006, Davuluri was able to graduate debt-free from the University of Michigan.
